This unit explores changing ideas about the universe and how these ideas have influenced the development of science and religion.

It considers how belief in one God contributed to the idea of an ordered universe and the concept of linear time. It looks at the dependence of modern science upon such foundations.

The content helps pupils to understand that the ways in which we perceive space and time are based upon, and influenced by, connected developments in religion and science.

This unit consists of four lessons and is suitable for pupils aged from 10-11 years.
